Six Mistakes That Could Detract From Your Enjoyment During Your Helicopter Charter

Posted on

Traveling somewhere by helicopter is exhilarating. It can be one of the best ways to view landscapes and cityscapes all over the world. However, it's important to be properly prepared for a helicopter charter to maximize your comfort.

The following are six mistakes to avoid that could detract from your enjoyment during your helicopter charter.

Leaving long hair down

There is going to be a lot of wind blowing around during your time riding in the helicopter. If you have long hair, this is not going to be very comfortable for you because your hair will be blowing everywhere. This won't just detract from your comfort, it will also take away from your visibility and ability to take in the view.

Wearing flip-flops or sandals

Most helicopter charter companies require that passengers wear closed-toe shoes that lace up. That's because wearing other types of footwear in a helicopter could put you at risk of stumbling and becoming injured.

Make sure that you don't show up for your helicopter tour in flip-flops, sandals, or any other kind of open-toe shoe.

Wearing a hat

Wearing a hat is a bad idea because of all the wind that you'll have to deal with while riding in a helicopter. Most likely, your hat will blow off while you are in the helicopter. If this doesn't happen, you'll likely be constantly distracted by trying to hold onto it.

Wearing loose jewelry

Loose jewelry can also blow around during a helicopter tour and cause distractions and visibility issues. If you have loose jewelry in your collection, make sure you leave it at home for your helicopter trip.

Only wear tight-fitting jewelry during your tour, such as earring studs or items like rings that won't blow around as easily.

Taking any heavy bags or luggage with you

You want to get in the helicopter with as few items on you as possible to avoid distractions. You don't want to be worrying about any bags during the experience. It's also important to note that there are weight restrictions during a helicopter ride so that taking any heavy luggage is often not allowed.

Not paying attention during the initial safety briefing

Before your tour begins, you'll be given a quick safety briefing that will explain to you some issues, like how to put on your seat belt and what to do in case of an emergency. You should pay attention during this briefing to make sure you're carrying out all necessary safety precautions during the trip.
